Nature

Published by birdsong at 12:04 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Did not really do a lot of work on finding out more about Wicca today.  But I did do something sorta Wiccan – spent the day working outside in the garden, on the lawn, and on the oaks. Wicca teaches to be more intune with nature, and I took that to heart.  I looked outside yesterday and decided that the lawn in the backyard was crying for some attention.  We sort of let the lawn go last year because the trees had a hard year, they decided to sprout in February and then got winter killed later that month, so we let the acorns lay, so the the trees could use the akaline soil.  But it killed a huge patch of lawn, so we went to Wal-mart got some gten it up grass seed for shady spots and spent 3 hours cleaning up all the acorns and sticks before we could put down the seeds.  Then we moved on to the garden, where I prepared the soil using some peat.  The gound tends to get really hard, so I like to soften it up before planting.  At Home Depot we got a really nice Rosemary/Thyme pot that I replaneted in a large container, in the sun.  I also got some Hydrangia, Celosia, & Pansys that I planted in the garden.  The Hydrangia went in the pernial bed, which is coming along very nicely.  The others wen the annual bed, this years colors are Red & Pink.  It felt good to be working in the yard – I did try to atune myself to what I was doing, to be a part of it, not just throwing in some flower, but to ask the dirt, where would the flowers be best.  After I was done “D” said it looked fantastic – better then it had on years, the plants flowed not just stuck together, but looked like they belonged there.  I guess it helps to ask!
